Summary

Wakana Gojou is a fifteen year old high-school boy who was socially traumatized in the past due to his passion for dolls and doll-making。 That incident left a mark on him that made him into a social recluse。 But one day he was caught talking to his doll by Kitagawa Marin, a sociable gyaru who is perfectly open about her otaku interests -- in short, the complete opposite of him。

Instead of making fun of him, she's amazed by his skill on the sewing machine, and asks if he'll help her make a cosplay! Through sharing their passions, they end up in an odd but supportive relationship。

finished reading on Jan。 16, 2022 - That was a blast! I never thought I'd be excited to read a manga series about cosplay! Love the developments in this volume, and I hope the romance progresses fairly better even though I've heard it was slow。 There were some panels in here I thought are unnecessary (view spoiler)[(like washing Marin's cosplay wig) (hide spoiler)], but I'm so glad those panels were utilized instead to progress the romance of this series! finished reading on Jan。 16, 2022 - That was a blast! 3。5Seriously, too much fanservice, I'm starting to read it half-heartedly。 But I'm just really interested in their relationship, and that's what's keeping me here! And I adore the art so much! And I love that Marin is the first to have feelings for Wacchan, and not the other way around。 Yup, but seinen readers will really adore this。 3。5Seriously, too much fanservice, I'm starting to read it half-heartedly。 But I'm just really interested in their relationship, and that's what's keeping me here! This volume was insanely cute。 Like yes! The cosplay came out so good, and my boy was stressing out for it, bro he did such a good job! And Marin (I think that’s her name) was so excited, I loved her energy。 Not only that but both of them slowly falling for each other is a yes in my book, I literally shipped them in the first volume and I’m definitely going to continue shipping them now。

I like that the author did a ton of research on the cosplay world。 It’s interesting to read about for sure。Gojo and Marin are very very cute。 I love that they’re both their own brand of weirdo。 I’m not looking forward to the drama this girl is going to bring because I’m sure it’s going to just be bitchy, pointless drama。 Hopefully they at least become friends after 🙄

This series is amazing! Tension between Marin and Gojo is extremely real and I just want so much to see them confessing love to each other。。。! Never expected to like some manga genre romance including cosplay to be so fun and charming for me!

kat (wroughtofbooks)

I think all the underwear shots are a bit over gratuitous。 I’m not really sure if I like it。 But I think I’ll give it one more volume。

Very cute, like the representation that goes into cosplay and learning more about it !

Yes, the manga has plenty of laughs。 The cosplay scene is also very much real in this volume, so I really appreciate that too。 But man, this volume also had a lot of tears and stress on our main boy。 nd that ended, I'm interested to see what volume 3 is going to do next。 Yes, the manga has plenty of laughs。 The cosplay scene is also very much real in this volume, so I really appreciate that too。 But man, this volume also had a lot of tears and stress on our main boy。 nd that ended, I'm interested to see what volume 3 is going to do next。 。。。more

Gojo realizes that the next cosplay event is in two weeks which only gives him that amount of time to finish the outfit。 With his grandfather having a health issue after seeing him buy female leggings, and exams on the horizon, Gojo stresses on if he will be able to make the deadline。 With determination and not much sleep, he finishes it, much to Marin's shock and appreciation。 She had not planned to go to the one that coming up, but had planned to wait until whenever she is finished。 She tries Gojo realizes that the next cosplay event is in two weeks which only gives him that amount of time to finish the outfit。 With his grandfather having a health issue after seeing him buy female leggings, and exams on the horizon, Gojo stresses on if he will be able to make the deadline。 With determination and not much sleep, he finishes it, much to Marin's shock and appreciation。 She had not planned to go to the one that coming up, but had planned to wait until whenever she is finished。 She tries it on and it fits great! Only issue is that she can not lift her arms much。 She excitedly wants to attend the cosplay event the next day。 The two attend and she has a lot of fun taking pictures but started to feel to hot because the fabrics is heavy。 She takes time to recover before returning to finish the photoshoot and they pictures are posted。 Gojo thinks that this will be end of spending time with her but she states there more cosplays that she wants to do! XD Later on, a mysterious woman, asks who are in the pictures。 The scene with him riding back on the train was cute when Gojo calls her pretty and remembers his feelings towards the word 'pretty'。When Gojo grandpa arrives home, he learns why his grandson was buying leggings and understands。 He invites Marin to dinner, and there when Gojo and his grandfather are talking, Marin realizes that she has started to develop feelings for him。 I am looking forward to reading volume 3。 。。。more

The art and Marin as a character are the only things really keeping me going on this series。 The premise is cute and I like the exploration into the process of making a cosplay as when I cosplay, I usually just buy the costume premade and alter it if I have to, whereas the manga shows how someone might make it from scratch。 An ok follow-up to the first volume but I found myself losing interest quickly

Gojo is rushing to complete the cosplay in time for the cosplay event (that he didn't know was happening in two weeks)。 One thing I appreciate in this manga is the drama that arises is natural。 We get to see the stresses of loving what you're doing, but that love not always being enough to keep doing said thing。 The flashbacks with Gojo's gramps are really heartfelt, and tie in nicely to what's going on present day。 Gojo's determination and drive to get the cosplay done is admirable, especially Gojo is rushing to complete the cosplay in time for the cosplay event (that he didn't know was happening in two weeks)。 One thing I appreciate in this manga is the drama that arises is natural。 We get to see the stresses of loving what you're doing, but that love not always being enough to keep doing said thing。 The flashbacks with Gojo's gramps are really heartfelt, and tie in nicely to what's going on present day。 Gojo's determination and drive to get the cosplay done is admirable, especially considering they're high schoolers。 The finished product is amazing, and I'm immediately reminded this manga is mature once the cosplay is put on。 It looks amazing though, and thankfully things do go overboard with the presentation。 Shinichi's art is out of this world。Things escalate with this volume in regards to the relationship between the two leads, and man is it nice to see development early on。 I won't say what happens, but believe me when I say it's a great thing to see。 I can't wait to dive into the next one! 。。。more

As the second volume of this series, this is a worthy follow up。 It wraps up the first major arc, establishing the friendship between the main characters。 It is this burgeoning relationship that makes this title another fun and sweet read, making you smile involuntarily as you read it。

I like how Wakana and Marin went to a cosplay event。

Loved the second one even more than the first。 I loved finding how much the main characters had in common, and how relatable they were。 It made it much more a joy to read and the story just flows really nicely。 Starting the third one right away, I'm in love with the characters and the story。 Loved the second one even more than the first。 I loved finding how much the main characters had in common, and how relatable they were。 It made it much more a joy to read and the story just flows really nicely。 Starting the third one right away, I'm in love with the characters and the story。 。。。more

Really CuteI am really enjoying the pace of this manga。 More movement and chaos should be happening at a convention though, it would really be crazy

This gets five stars for two reasons:1。 Marin getting upset when she realizes she didn't communicate with Gojo properly as to when the deadline for the outfit's completion was。 SO MANY MANGA would try to laugh this off or have the protagonist be so absorbed in the work they wouldn't realize how difficult this was on the MC, but Marin is legitimately DEVASTATED when she realizes her mistake。 Not only that, she apologizes multiple times and even tells him he can lean on her if he needs to。 HOLY SH This gets five stars for two reasons:1。 Marin getting upset when she realizes she didn't communicate with Gojo properly as to when the deadline for the outfit's completion was。 SO MANY MANGA would try to laugh this off or have the protagonist be so absorbed in the work they wouldn't realize how difficult this was on the MC, but Marin is legitimately DEVASTATED when she realizes her mistake。 Not only that, she apologizes multiple times and even tells him he can lean on her if he needs to。 HOLY SHIT, I was not ready for that level of maturity and compassion and it damn near killed me。2。 Seeing Marin's unbridled joy not only when she tries her outfit on for the first time, but also when she goes to the cosplay event。 It's impossible (at least to me) to not feel that joy, to not smile so hard at how happy she is and grateful she is to Gojo for doing this for her。 She is easily the best leading lady this series could ask for and I'm glad Fukuda chose to write her this way。That's all I want to say, I loved this volume and am already in love with this series。 Don't be turned off by the ecchi elements, please give this a shot if you're a romance fan! 。。。more

Pretty strong follow up to volume 1, a big chunk of this one was about the cosplaying event they go to for Marin's costume debut。 For someone who goes to a bunch of conventions and really likes all the cosplaying, I'm loving this series right now。 I feel like this will become a pretty popular series down the road and I feel like Square Enix's printing quality is superior to some of these other more known U。S publishing companies。 Can't wait to dive into volume 3!
